Building six packs has been something people have been doing for ages. The desire for a lean, rippled stomach has never seemed to go out of style. This is where people start to get fact and fiction mixed, though. It is often thought that by doing intensive crunches or other spot exercises for the abdominal muscles that a person can build their six pack. This may help, but nobody will build a six pack on spot exercising alone. It takes aerobic exercises and a good diet.

It is also worth knowing that not everyone will be able to build a six pack. That is a sad fact. Genetics play a large part in the six pack look. Some people simply can not get their body fat percentage low enough to produce a six pack. Without the low body fat percentage toned abs will not show through as a six pack. Typically, women will find it much harder to build a six pack than a man due to the biological make-up of the female body. A person who has a genetic make-up of a high body fat will likely, also find building a six pack to be something they cannot accomplish.

The best workout for a six pack will include exercises that work the back muscles and all the abdominal muscles. Additionally, you must do aerobic exercise to aid in reducing body fat. Form is important when doing spot exercises. The wrong form can equal injury which can really set you back. So, eating right, doing spot and aerobic exercises is the formula for building six packs. Not including any part of this formula will make it very difficult, if not impossible, to build a six pack.
